An American alto saxophonist, arranger, and composer (1929–2020), Lennie Niehaus was a prominent figure in West Coast jazz. He gained recognition for his work with Stan Kenton's orchestra in the 1950s, contributing significantly to their sound. Later, Niehaus forged a prolific career in film scoring, most notably collaborating with Clint Eastwood on numerous movie soundtracks.
