An American jazz guitarist, trombonist, and arranger, Eddie Durham (1906–1987) was a pivotal figure in the swing era. He is widely credited as one of the earliest proponents of the electric guitar in jazz and significantly influenced the Kansas City jazz sound through his work with Bennie Moten and Count Basie.
