JazzLib Editorial

How we approach news

JazzLib publishes news and cultural stories about jazz, releases, artists, live music and education. This page explains the standards we use for that work.

Coverage

We aim to describe developments clearly and distinguish reported information from context or commentary. Publication is selective; a story appearing here is not a guarantee that every event, release or artist will be covered.

Sources and verification

For factual reporting, we seek relevant primary or authoritative sources and list sources where they help readers assess a claim. We review facts before publication, while recognizing that information can change or sources can later be corrected.

Corrections

When a published story needs a material correction, we update it and add a correction note when appropriate. Readers can use our contact page to flag a possible error.

Advertising and sponsorship

Editorial coverage and paid or sponsored material should be distinguishable. When a story includes a sponsorship disclosure, it is shown with that story.
