Billy Strayhorn was an American jazz composer, pianist, lyricist, and arranger, best known for his collaboration with Duke Ellington. He composed many of Ellington's most famous pieces, including 'Take the 'A' Train' and 'Lush Life.' Strayhorn's sophisticated harmonies and melodies significantly contributed to the Ellington Orchestra's unique sound.
