American composer Ralph Blane (1914–1995) was a prominent figure in mid-20th century popular music and film. He is best known for his collaborations with Hugh Martin, most notably co-writing the classic holiday song "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" for the 1944 film Meet Me in St. Louis. Blane also contributed to numerous Broadway productions and other Hollywood musicals, leaving a lasting legacy of beloved standards.
