The American composer and conductor Jack Elliott (1927–2001) was a prominent figure in jazz and popular music from the mid-20th century. He is best known for his extensive work in film and television, composing scores for numerous productions and serving as music director for the Academy Awards and Emmy Awards. Elliott's versatile career also included significant contributions as a big band arranger and educator.
