Eubie Blake and Noble Sissle, an American duo, were pioneering figures in early 20th-century jazz and popular music. Sissle, a lyricist and vocalist, collaborated with Blake (composer) to create the groundbreaking musical "Shuffle Along" (1921), which was a significant Broadway success and helped launch the careers of many Black performers. Their work was instrumental in bringing Black musical theater to mainstream audiences and influencing the development of jazz and popular song forms.
