Japanese jazz fusion keyboardist and composer Hirotaka Izumi (1958–2021) was a prominent figure in the genre, best known for his long tenure with the influential band T-Square. His distinctive playing style and prolific compositions significantly shaped the sound of Japanese jazz and popular music throughout the late 20th and early 21st centuries. He also enjoyed a successful solo career and collaborated with numerous other artists.
