An American jazz and rhythm and blues singer, songwriter, and pianist, Don Gardner (1931–2018) rose to prominence in the late 1950s and early 1960s. He is best known for his 1962 hit "Need Your Love So Bad" and his dynamic vocal style, often performing with his longtime musical partner, Dee Dee Ford. Gardner's contributions helped shape the sound of early soul and R&B.
