David Lee Roth is an American rock singer, songwriter, and actor, best known as the original and current lead singer of the hard rock band Van Halen. He was also a successful solo artist, releasing several albums in the 1980s and 1990s. While primarily known as a performer, he contributed to songwriting for many of his band's and solo hits.
