Harry "Sweets" Edison was an American jazz trumpeter and composer. He was a prominent soloist in the Count Basie Orchestra during its classic swing era, known for his distinctive, muted trumpet sound and melodic improvisations. After leaving Basie, he had a successful career as a bandleader and a highly sought-after studio musician.
