American saxophonist Bob Berg (1951–2002) was a prominent figure in jazz fusion and post-bop from the 1970s through the early 2000s. Known for his powerful tenor saxophone playing and virtuosic improvisation, he significantly contributed to groups led by Horace Silver, Cedar Walton, Miles Davis, and Chick Corea. Berg's distinctive sound and energetic performances left a lasting impact on contemporary jazz saxophone.
